Reusing Graywater is Gray-It!

Graywater is sewage water from your bathtub, showers, washing sinks and laundry machine. sewage from your kitchen and toilets is considered "Blackwater" and should be treated in a sewage treatment system before it can be reused. if your project does not connect to a municipal sewage system please contact us reagaring a treatment system.

on average each person is producing about 50 gallons of graywater per day, just enough water to irrigate an area of about 1500SF. An average household can typically save about 50% of outdoor water consumption by reusing graywater via a controlled irrigation system.

According to most graywater codes, graywater should be reused immidiatly without storage of more than 24 hours and release to irrigation via subsurface emmiters. although graywater can be released to irrigatation directly without filteration and pump, it is more efficient to use a pump system and a controlled irrigation to maximize water savings.

Gray-It is a graywayer system which filter and pump graywater to subsurface emmiters via a controller. The controller distribue graywater to each zone based on your preferance and add freshwater backup if not enough graywater was produced. This method is the most efficient irrigation method since it is volume based and not time based. For a complete description on Gray-It features visit the Gray-It page.

"I am really glad I had you install the recycling systemfor my home---even though it only takes in water from one shower and one sink, I also included all the water coming from my washing machine. My water bill has dropped by around 60% !!! This enormous savings will cover the cost of the system in around one year!! Thank you.You were always pleasant, prompt and it was a wonderful experience."
